Activated charcoal
Filter with efficiency
Activated carbon can be used in both seawater and freshwater. Once placed in a sock, it can be positioned in either an internal or external filtration system, or even placed at the bottom of a sump.
Activated carbon has multiple uses. It serves as a bacterial support capable of denitrification and has the property of absorbing various chemicals or medications. It should be changed every 2 to 3 weeks to avoid releasing the substances it has absorbed.
