PROTOCOL FOR RINSING DEAD ROCKS AND AQUAROCHE RECIFATHOME:

NB: If your tap water does not contain heavy metals or NO3- etc. You can use it; otherwise, osmosis water is mandatory.

The aim is to release as much as possible and saturate the surface-active agents present on the surface of the ceramic to provide a favorable environment for bacteria and coralline algae. This protocol was developed by Recifathome in association with public aquariums in 2010. Here are the doses to be adapted according to your volume of water where the Dead Rocks and Aquaroche are located (we recommend doing this in a plastic container, never in the aquarium):

Day 1 For 30 liters of water, 30 cl of white vinegar
Day 2 For 30 liters of water, 10 grams of calcium hydroxide
Day 3 For 30 liters of water, 30 cl of white vinegar
Day 4 For 30 liters of water, 10 grams of calcium hydroxide
Day 5 For 30 liters of water, 30 cl of white vinegar
Day 6 For 30 liters of water, 10 grams of calcium hydroxide
Day 7 Rinse with osmosis water. Each day the water is changed 100%

  • MarcoRocks are 100% made by nature

Part of South Florida is located on ancient coral reefs. Once the rocks are carefully unearthed and cleared of sediments, the stones are completely safe for a reef aquarium while preserving our beautiful living reefs.

Marco Rocks are also carefully selected to be free of anything that could affect their purity. Being a natural product, each batch or rock may vary somewhat from the last. This is where our skilled team of experienced rock handlers comes into play. MarcoRocks is proud to select only the best raw material that will one day find its way into your aquarium and treat them in an environmentally friendly manner.

    Frequently Asked Questions About MarcoRocks:

    Bacterial Seeding:

Since MarcoRocks is a dry and natural product from a non-living marine environment, it will need some time to become biologically alive. Bacteria can be introduced into the system from day one and in several ways. Contact us to get an effective seeding program. Many reputable brands of bacteria are on the market to meet this need. You can also seed your aquarium by introducing any live rocks from another mature reef aquarium provided it is free of parasites.

    Cycle

The cycle time varies from system to system and regular testing of the nitrogen cycle (ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate) will determine when the aquarium is ready for the introduction of animals. Since our rock is already safe to use upon delivery to your home, there is no need to soak or otherwise treat it. MarcoRocks is 100% reef safe right out of the box.

    Whiteness
If you prefer a very white color, you can soak or spray it outside with diluted bleach, then rinse thoroughly and let it dry in the sun before use.

How long does it take for the purple color to settle?

Every system is different, but if you already have coralline algae in the system, it will speed up the process. 3-6 months for good purple coverage. Up to 1 year for full purple coverage.
