The Deltec Skimmers: The Emergency Overflow System

The Deltec "i" DC series pump incorporates a new emergency overflow system that prevents the collection container from overflowing in case the water level in the sump suddenly surpasses the skimmer (the air intake gets blocked). The water level rises in the body, and the air supply to the pump will automatically shut off via the emergency overflow, further reducing the risk of foam flooding the sump.

The "double base" base plate design allows water to exit the body into a "void" inside the sole and into the integrated level adjustment tube and emergency overflow tube. This new design feature means that water exits the skimmer body at the lowest point, significantly reducing the risk of escaping micro-bubbles. This increases the contact time between water and air, thereby limiting noise and turbulence within the skimmer body.
