Triton
Discover the Triton method and its products below. The Triton method was created by scientists in Australia and Germany.
Its goal is to maintain corals known to be difficult, all within a scientific framework. Their method is scientific! (products below)
There are 2 additive solutions at Triton:
The Triton method BASE ELEMENTS core7 which provides absolutely all minerals (CA, MG, etc.) and super-purifies your tank (Nitrates and Phosphates will tend towards 0mg/l). This method contains an algae booster product called INFUSION inside.
The other Triton method OTHER Reef METHODS core7 which provides absolutely all minerals (CA, MG, etc.) but does not super-purify your tank as it does not contain INFUSION.
The first question to ask is:
Do I need to remove my Nitrates and Phosphates?
Yes, a lot = Triton method BASE ELEMENTS (complete method with refugium, etc.)
No, or just a little = the other method OTHER METHODS (Setup like the complete method with refugium, etc.)
WARNING: if you manage your Nitrates and Phosphates very well, keeping them close to zero, The Triton method BASE ELEMENTS core7 will bring these values to 0 (very dangerous)
Equipment and installation for the TRITON Method:
You will need high-end lighting such as Hydra, Radion, Evergrow correctly set (we provide settings to our customers LED) etc. A very good skimmer, a biological support of 10% of the tank's volume (live rocks). A refugium with a volume of 10% of your aquarium (for a 1000-liter aquarium, the refugium should be 100 liters and be before the skimmer in a reversed photoperiod of 12 hours). The turnover of the refugium should be 10x the total tank volume (in this example, 10000 liters per hour), and you should maintain several types of algae to offer good biodiversity. The refugium should be bare bottom, meaning without sand, with only 1 to 2 rocks. If you already have this, you only need the Triton method products.
You need 100 ml of anti-phosphate resin AL99 and 100 ml of charcoal per 100 liters of aquarium water.
The method began with 4 products on a dosing pump = CORE7 base elements (Kh, Ca, Mg, etc. and elements for refugium algae) available in 4 x 1 liter or in a preparation to make 4 x 4 liters. Then came CORE7 reef elements intended for aquariums without a refugium (Kh, Ca, Mg, etc. and without elements for refugium algae, missing the Triton infusion).
The basic elements in 4 parts are dosed in the same quantity based on the loss of kH / alkalinity. kH is tested, and if a loss is measured, the daily dosage of basic elements should be increased. Conversely, if kH is tested and an increase is measured, the daily dosage of basic elements should be reduced. This way, you meet the exact needs of your personal aquarium. The ICP-OES and N-DOC laboratory tests will guide you through this step.
