A word from Mr. Balling of Biota: Biota is advancing the aquaculture industry through bold innovation and an unwavering commitment to protect and restore the ocean. We have developed new sustainable breeding methods for fish, clams, and corals for the global aquarium trade, food security, and conservation. Our philosophy is to give back to the ocean and take nothing from it.

Biota fish are bred in captivity in our marine nursery and carefully acclimated to aquarium life. This means that we - and you - do not have to take fish from the wild. We have already collectively bred over 100 different types of fish, including endangered species, rare and exotic species, and world firsts such as borbonias anthias, bumphead parrotfish, and clownfish. Everything we do at Biota aims to leave the ocean in a better state than we found it.
