Often found in the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, they are recognizable by their oval shape and their narrow, compressed bodies. Generally, this family of fish favors slightly alkaline waters and a temperature ranging between 22° and 26°. Similarly, coral reefs, rocky areas, and seabeds are the environments they prefer to inhabit.

  • Anthias fish from the Serranidae family live in harems. Different species of anthias are found in all the world's seas except cold zones. Anthias primarily feed on small prey like zooplankton. Although sometimes complex to maintain, they are nevertheless tolerant towards other species and can be added to a community aquarium. Most anthias fish like to occupy reef slopes and large spaces, which implies having aquarium equipment adapted to their daily needs.

  • Pufferfish belong to the Tetraodontidae family. They are recognizable by their elongated heads and compressed bodies, as well as their beak-like mouths. Pufferfish are omnivores, but some species have preferences for invertebrates or algae. These pufferfish are capable of inflating with water to up to four times their size to deter any would-be attackers! Additionally, their bodies contain a large amount of tetrodotoxin, a substance that can cause paralysis, respiratory complications, and even death in predators. This category includes the Canthigaster pufferfish and the Arothron hispidus...

  • Fish and Anemones

Clownfish are Pomacentridae. Popular for this peculiarity, they live in close association with large sea anemones and are very territorial. They primarily thrive in warm waters, shallow seas, or lagoons. Consequently, clownfish are not found in the Atlantic Ocean. They are omnivores with a tendency towards plankton consumption, and they also feed on the debris from their anemone. Thus, it is necessary to respect their varied and vitamin-rich diet, which includes both animal and plant matter. However, it is crucial to monitor their food intake, as they have a tendency to store excess food in their respective anemone. Buy clownfish at low prices! Amphiprion darwini, Amphiprion ocellaris, Clarkii, etc.

  • Territorial and Resistant Fish

Damselfish belong to the Pomacanthidae family. They thrive in rather warm waters, in the tropical coral reefs found in the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean. Although each species of damselfish has its own characteristics (Chromis viridis, Chrysiptera, dascyllus, pomacentrus, neoglyphidodo, etc.), they are generally very territorial fish, which makes coexistence with other species difficult. Omnivorous with carnivorous tendencies, damselfish feed on brine shrimp, mussels, and other frozen foods. Overall, this species eats almost anything, which greatly facilitates feeding. Popular for their resistance and robustness, damselfish are an ideal and highly sought-after species in saltwater aquariums.

  • Peaceful and Popular Fish

Mandarinfish synchiropus picturatus, pterosynchiropus splendidus, synchiropus marmoratus, neosynchiropus ocellatus. Mandarinfish are small, brilliantly colored fish from the Callionymidae family, very popular in aquariums for their colors and calm behavior. Rather tolerant with other species, they are generally not disturbed by cohabitation with other fish. However, due to their timid nature, it is not recommended to introduce them into an aquarium with overly territorial species. Mandarinfish often live on sandy bottoms and feed on small invertebrates. Indeed, their main diet consists of consuming phytoplankton and zooplankton found on rocks and sand. This diet makes manual feeding relatively complex. Therefore, it is crucial to have a tank with impeccable conditions, with a micro-ecosystem conducive to the feeding of mandarinfish.
