Heteractis malu

The species Heteractis malu belongs to the family Stichodactylidae. It is advised to feed it once a week with prey such as shrimp, mussels, and small fish of a size >2cm for example. Recommended for diligent beginner aquarists. Propagation of Heteractis malu is impossible or very difficult. Light: low to moderate with a spectrum of around 14,000 to 20,000 K. Aggressiveness: high. Current: low to medium. Water quality: we recommend a nitrate (NO3-) level higher than 10mg/liter. Also, a phosphate (PO4) level between 0.01 and 0.05mg/l. Of course, Calcium (400-440mg/l), Magnesium (1250-1350mg/l), and Kh (7.5 to 9°dKH) should be at the right levels. In conclusion, Heteractis malu are relatively easy to maintain if you provide them with light and moderate water flow, as long as the parameters are good. This anemone can be inhabited by various invertebrates such as shrimp (Periclimenes) and some fish such as Amphiprion clarkii or Amphiprion sebae.
