En savoir plus

The species Epicystis belongs to the family Phymanthidae. Feeding once every 2 days is recommended with prey such as rotifers and Artemia nauplii of a size of <0.5cm, for example. Recommended for experienced aquarists. Propagation of Epicystis is impossible or very difficult. Light: medium to low with a spectrum of about 18,000 to 20,000 K. Aggressiveness: medium. Current: low. Water quality: we recommend a nitrate NO3- level above 10mg/liter, as well as a phosphate PO4 level between 0.01 and 0.05mg/l. Of course, Calcium (400-440mg/l), Magnesium (1250-1350mg/l), and KH (7.5 to 9°dKH) should be at appropriate levels. In conclusion, Epicystis are more challenging to maintain than other anemones unless you provide moderate to low lighting and minimal water flow, provided that the parameters are good. This anemone can be inhabited by various invertebrates such as shrimp (Periclimenes) and most clownfish.
