Common name: Blue Heteractis Anemone. This anemone is capable of moving. It is necessary to protect the pump intakes. It needs strong lighting of the HQI type and strong water flow. The Heteractis aurora species belongs to the Stichodactylidae family. Feeding once a week is recommended with prey such as shrimp, mussels, and small fish of a size >2cm, for example. Recommended for dedicated beginner aquarists. Propagating Heteractis aurora is impossible or very difficult. Light: medium to strong with a spectrum of around 14,000 to 20,000 K. Aggressiveness: high. Current: low to medium. Water quality: we recommend a nitrate NO3- level above 10mg/liter. Also, a phosphate PO4 level between 0.01 and 0.05mg/l. Naturally, Calcium (400-440mg/l), Magnesium (1250-1350mg/l), and Kh (7.5 to 9°dKH) should be at the proper values. To conclude, Heteractis aurora are relatively easy to maintain if you light them moderately to intensely and with slight to reasonable water flow, provided the parameters are correct. This anemone can be occupied by various invertebrates such as shrimp (Periclimenes) and most clownfish but is highly appreciated by Amphiprion akindynos, Amphiprion allardi, Amphiprion bicinctus, Amphiprion chrysogaster, Amphiprion chrysopterus, Amphiprion clarkii, and Amphiprion tricinctus.
