En savoir plus

Inhabiting the waters of the Pacific Ocean, the flame angelfish can reach a size of 15 cm. Orange with black vertical stripes, this specimen also has bluish scales near the anal and dorsal fins. Note that its lifespan is sometimes estimated by professionals to be over 25 years!

In an aquarium, a minimum volume of 200L is recommended for proper maintenance. A water temperature between 23° and 28° is recommended, as well as a pH between 8 and 8.5. Thus, the flame angelfish prefers rather alkaline waters. Unfussy about food, this fish eats all kinds of common foods in aquaristics, such as brine shrimp, algae, mussel flesh, or krill. Very low in polyp appetite, this animal is completely suitable for reef aquariums. Additionally, it thrives well in cohabitation with other peaceful species.

Common name: Flame Angelfish. This fish has a flashy orange/red oval-shaped body with black vertical stripes, and the dorsal and anal fins have black and blue bands.
