Reef Mineral Salt 800g - Aquaforest

Description

An agent for maintaining constant mineral levels in reef aquariums. The use of Reef Mineral Salt is one of the most important elements when supplementing calcium chloride and sodium bicarbonate (Balling method). Lack of reef mineral salt supplementation leads to a dangerous mineral deficiency. Long-term shortages of micro and macronutrients result in excessive growth slowdown and pale and unhealthy coral coloration.

Dosage

Dissolve 25 g in 1000 ml of RODI water. To maintain ionic balance, it is also recommended to apply: Calcium, KH Buffer, and Magnesium, whose doses should be established based on water tests and the daily consumption of corals.

The Reef Mineral Salt solution should be dosed with the same amounts of liquid as the calcium and KH buffer solutions.

Recommendations

- Dosing reef mineral salt cannot be treated as a substitute for significant water changes, which are still necessary.

- Keep away from children.

- Product for aquarium use only.

- Not suitable for human consumption.

- Safety data sheet available on request.

FAQ

The Aquaforest Balling process (component 123+) includes reef mineral salt as the third dosing part. I use a calcium reactor and wonder if I am missing out by not dosing it.

Reef Mineral Salt should be used with calcium chloride and sodium bicarbonate. If you use a calcium reactor, there is no need to use Reef Mineral Salt.

How does Reef Mineral Salt work?

It is a common misconception among reefers that administering salt without NaCl is primarily meant to replenish trace elements. The main task of salt without sodium chloride is to maintain the ionic balance of aquarium water. NaCl-free salt is one of the most important components of the Balling method, and it plays a significant role when supplementing calcium chloride and sodium bicarbonate. The use of NaCl-free salt is no longer so common, and the application of the Balling method is often limited to 2 or sometimes 3 of its main components. This approach is unlikely to cause any issues for several weeks or even months, but in the meantime, the chemical reactions taking place in the marine aquarium will lead to a deficit in trace elements.
