High temperatures in an aquarium can cause stress and diseases. Not everyone has the budget or space for a refrigerant chiller, so a simple solution is to help cool your tank through evaporative cooling.
This inexpensive solution simply involves blowing a stream of air over the surface of your tank to increase evaporation, which creates evaporative cooling.
There are many low-cost fans on the market, but OCEAN BREEZE units are different, each fan operating on ball bearings, compared to similar cheaper versions where the plastic fan runs directly on the shaft. This feature increases the cost but significantly extends the lifespan and reduces noise levels of the fans.
To get the best results from evaporative cooling, it is best to place the fan so that it moves air over the top of an open aquarium. This will remove the warm, humid air from the surface of the aquarium, replacing it with dry air from the surrounding atmosphere, allowing for more efficient evaporative cooling.
Using one or more Ocean Breeze units will allow you to reduce the temperature of your aquarium, using a controller, or even with a simple timer, set to operate at the hottest time of the day.
Note: the fan should not be wet or in an enclosed environment, as this will just recirculate humid air around the space and any cooling effect will be minimal or nonexistent.
