En savoir plus

Elongated in shape, the Ecsenius bicolor has an orange rear body while the front is bluish-purple. The character of this species is unique since behavior can vary from one individual to another. Thus, there is no defined social preference or common incompatibility among all Ecsenius bicolor. Some are more lively than others, tolerate or do not tolerate corals, etc.

When maintained in an aquarium, a minimum of 60L is required for this fish. The water temperature should be between 23° and 28°. The pH should be between 8 and 8.5. The advantage of this species is that it is very little sensitive to variations in its maintenance conditions. Omnivorous, the Ecsenius bicolor is also very easy to feed, and consumes, for example, brine shrimp, shrimp, or mussels.

Common name: Bicolor blenny fish. This fish has an elongated violet and orange body. It wanders all day to its various observation posts. It is preferable to have a substrate layer with live rocks because it feeds on a multitude of small prey. Ideal for beginners and small aquariums. The female is black in color.
