En savoir plus

The Chaetodon ocellatus is a butterflyfish about fifteen centimeters long. Its body, rather white, is contrasted by yellow fins and a black stripe running vertically across the head passing through the eye. This specimen is found in the Western Atlantic, within coral reefs. In most cases, it swims in pairs, sometimes among shipwrecks.

A 1000L aquarium is recommended for maintaining the Chaetodon ocellatus. The water temperature should be between 22° and 28° and the pH between 8 and 8.5. The presence of live rocks and other stones is welcome to best mimic the natural living conditions of the specimen. Benthic invertebrates are the main food source for this fish. Therefore, it is not compatible with corals and mollusks. Despite this, it maintains very good relationships with other fish species.

Common name: Spotfin Butterflyfish. This fish has an elliptical white body with yellow fins. It is easy to feed because it eats a bit of everything, including coral polyps, so it is reserved for a fish-only tank. It needs an aquarium rich in algae vegetation.
