En savoir plus

The Chaetodon rafflesi is a yellow butterflyfish characterized by a checkered pattern on its body sides. A vertical black stripe is also present on the head of the specimen, as well as another of the same color on the caudal fin. Found in a wide area of the Indo-Pacific Ocean, in the heart of coral reefs and lagoons, it is nonetheless quite rare to encounter. Despite this, the species is not considered threatened.

If you wish to keep the Chaetodon rafflesi, a large-volume aquarium is preferable. Most importantly, it should have a significant height to respect the fish's habit of vertical swimming. The interspecific relations of this species are relatively good. Finally, its diet should be varied, including coral polyps, algae, and other plants.

Common name: Raffles' Butterflyfish. This fish has an elliptical body that is yellow, with a vertical black stripe on the eyes. It is easy to feed as it eats a bit of everything, including LPS and SPS polyps, so be cautious when acclimating it to a reef aquarium. It needs an aquarium rich in algal vegetation.
