En savoir plus

The Chaetodon semilarvatus is a marine animal with an intense yellow color, possessing a bluish or purplish spot around its eyes. Its activity zone includes the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. In its natural habitat, it roams the reefs and rocky walls where it finds the food it needs.

For effective maintenance in an aquarium, the Chaetodon semilarvatus should have a minimum water volume of 450L. An ideal temperature is around 25°C with a pH close to 8. Although it tends to live in a monogamous pair for its entire life, it is quite possible to keep a group of individuals of this species, provided they are introduced together. Its diet consists of coral polyps, crustaceans, and live prey.

Common name: Masked Butterflyfish. This fish has an elliptical body that is yellow, striped with vertical red lines, and it has a blue mask over one eye. For its well-being, it needs an aquarium with a rich decor of live rocks. After acclimatization, it is a fairly robust fish.
