For effective maintenance in an aquarium, the Chaetodon semilarvatus should have a minimum water volume of 450L. An ideal temperature is around 25°C with a pH close to 8. Although it tends to live in a monogamous pair for its entire life, it is quite possible to keep a group of individuals of this species, provided they are introduced together. Its diet consists of coral polyps, crustaceans, and live prey.
Common name: Masked Butterflyfish. This fish has an elliptical body that is yellow, striped with vertical red lines, and it has a blue mask over one eye. For its well-being, it needs an aquarium with a rich decor of live rocks. After acclimatization, it is a fairly robust fish.
