En savoir plus
The Chaetodon striatus is a white butterflyfish striped with black bands, including over the eye, like many other specimens of its kind. About 13 cm in size, it inhabits the tropical Western Atlantic, from the American coasts to the Brazilian coasts. Often in pairs, it roams rocky environments and coral reefs. Once night falls, it takes refuge in stone cavities.
For aquarium maintenance, a minimum volume of 450L is recommended. The water temperature should be between 23° and 28°. The pH should be between 8 and 8.5. In captivity, as in its natural environment, it prefers to live alone or in pairs. Small invertebrates such as polychaete worms or zoanthids are suitable for its diet.
Common name: Banded butterflyfish. This fish has an elliptical body that is silvery white, marked by 2 wide black bands and a narrow black ocular band that crosses its head.
