En savoir plus

The Chaetodon vagabundus is a tricolor butterflyfish. Black and yellow, it is still predominantly white. Its sides have diagonal stripes. Very common in the Indo-Pacific Ocean, this specimen inhabits reef slopes and other coral environments. Very little territorial, this fish usually lives in pairs, although it is capable of living alone or in small groups.

Once in captivity, the Chaetodon vagabundus requires a minimum water volume of 450L. The temperature of this water must be between 23° and 28°. Additionally, the pH should be between 8 and 8.5. The species has the advantage of being relatively robust, thus tolerating many tank parameters. Its diet includes sea anemones, algae, coral polyps, etc.

Common name: Vagabond butterflyfish. This fish has an elliptical body that is silvery white with a yellow spot on the posterior part. It has a black band at the base of the dorsal fin. It is easy to feed as it eats a bit of everything, including LPS polyps, so be careful when acclimating it to a reef aquarium. It needs an aquarium rich in algal vegetation.
