En savoir plus
The Chaetodon collare is a butterflyfish with brown coloration. Its body is covered with yellowish spots, quite large near the head and getting smaller towards the caudal fin. A white line runs vertically across its head. Finally, a very thin bluish border is visible from the end of its dorsal to its caudal fin. Reaching a size of about 15 cm, it is found in the Indo-Pacific Ocean. Although quite shy, its swimming is known to be lively and fast.
In an aquarium, the Chaetodon collare requires a minimum volume of 450L. The water temperature tolerated by this specimen ranges between 23° and 28°. As for the pH, it should be between 8 and 8.5. Even though short-term relationships with its peers are not problematic in large groups, the Chaetodon collare preferably coexists with species other than its own. Omnivorous, this fish has very few dietary requirements since it accepts almost all kinds of food.
Common name: Collared butterflyfish. This fish has an elliptical brown body with light and dark oblique bands. It is easy to feed because it eats a bit of everything, including coral polyps, so it is reserved for a fish-only tank. It needs a fairly spacious aquarium because it is an active swimmer, very resilient.
