The Chaetodon xanthocephalus belongs to the butterflyfish family. Measuring up to about twenty centimeters, this specimen features a pointed yellow snout, a white striped body, and a gray caudal fin. Its anal fins can vary, as shown in the photograph on the side, with a yellow upper anal fin and a lower one that is rather red. This species is found in the Indian Ocean, at shallow depths within coral reefs.
For quality maintenance, a minimum 450L aquarium is required. The recommended water temperature ranges between 23° and 28°. The pH should be between 8 and 8.5. The Chaetodon xanthocephalus exhibits fairly calm behavior and mostly lives alone. Its diet is that of an omnivore.
Common name: Yellow-headed Butterflyfish. This fish has a triangular head with an elongated snout, and its overall color is silvery.
