En savoir plus
The Chaetodon xanthurus, also known as the pearlscale butterflyfish, is a primarily silver specimen. Its anal and caudal fins contain an intense yellow, which also appears faintly on the dorsal fin. The sides of this fish have a black pattern resembling a net, hence its nickname. Whether in pairs or alone, it lives near the bottoms of the Indo-Pacific ocean. With a lively temperament, it maintains better interspecific relationships than with its own kind.
If you wish to acquire a Chaetodon xanthurus, we recommend an aquarium of at least 400L for one individual. The ideal water temperature ranges between 23° and 27°. Additionally, the recommended pH is between 8 and 8.5. Perfect for introduction in a community tank, this fish does not show signs of aggression towards other species. Omnivorous with a tendency towards carnivory, it accepts most common aquarium foods.
Common name: Checkerboard butterflyfish. This fish has an elliptical body in the central part, with black chevrons on a silver background; the posterior part is orange. It is easy to feed as it eats a bit of everything, including coral polyps, so it is reserved for a fish-only tank. It needs an aquarium rich in algal vegetation.
