Femsal treatment adapted for corals, against fish parasites such as: Ichthyophthirius, Oodinium, Cryptocaryon. Fish can be treated in the aquarium.

Colombo Femsal® - Active treatment against skin parasites in marine fish

Introduction

Femsal is designed to combat skin parasites in marine fish such as Cryptocaryon, Uronema, Brooklynella, Oodinium, and others. This treatment is specially designed to treat fish infected with these parasites while minimizing the impact on invertebrates such as corals, shrimp, and anemones. Before use, be sure to read the instructions carefully and don't hesitate to seek advice from your dealer if in doubt.

Calculating Aquarium Volume

To determine the volume of the aquarium, use the formula: Length x width x height in decimeters. This will give you the volume of the unstocked aquarium in liters. Then subtract the volume occupied by live rock, sand, etc. Generally, this represents about 20%, but in heavily stocked aquariums, it can reach up to 30%.

Dosage and Usage

The recommended dosage is 1 ml of Femsal for 5 liters of aquarium water. If necessary, add 1 ml for 10 liters on the 3rd and 5th day. Do not administer more than 3 treatments (on the 1st day, the 3rd day, and the 5th day). It is important to turn off the protein skimmer for at least 8 hours after each application of the product. Do not filter with carbon, turn off UV lamps, and ozone devices for 24 hours after the last administration of the product. Avoid renewing the water during the treatment unless the water quality requires it. In this case, add 1 ml of Femsal for every 5 liters of fresh seawater added.

Warning and Precautions

Before adding Femsal, remove clams from the aquarium and keep them separately. Do not use with sharks and rays, and be cautious with shrimp. Do not combine Femsal with other medications. After the treatment, put fresh carbon in the filter to remove traces of the product. Remember that Femsal can leave indelible stains on clothes, furniture, floors, etc.

Information on Treated Parasites

Femsal is effective against several common parasites in marine fish:

  • Marine white spots (Cryptocaryon irritans): characterized by small white spots on the fish's skin.
  • Uronema: causes spots on the skin that can worsen over time.
  • Brooklynella: leads to excess mucus and respiratory problems.
  • Coral Fish Disease (Oodinium): successfully treated by Femsal.

The quality of life of the fish is an important factor in preventing the appearance of parasites. Ensure optimal conditions of lighting, feeding, and water quality to minimize the risk of infection.

Usage Precautions

This product is intended only for ornamental fish in aquariums. Keep it in its original packaging, out of reach of children, at a temperature between 4 and 32°C. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and vapors. In case of ingestion, consult a doctor and show them the packaging. This product can leave indelible stains.
