En savoir plus

Measuring between 25 and 40 cm, the Holothuria Hilla is a sea cucumber with a cylindrical body, in shades of orange or brown. Very common in the Indo-Pacific region and the Red Sea, this specimen roams sandy bottoms rich in corals. Since this species is mainly nocturnal, it requires many natural hiding places. Feeding on substrate, the Holothuria Hilla is a very high-quality detritivore. Indeed, its contribution to sediment recycling and its cleaning qualities are extremely beneficial within an aquarium.

Holothuria hilla common name: tiger tail sand shifter cucumber. This sea cucumber has the shape of a light hazelnut-colored sausage with white spots.

It likes to hide in sediments, sand, and live rocks. At night, it will come out to eat all the waste, making it a SUPER detritivore. It is perfectly harmless to the aquarium inhabitants and NON-toxic.
