Calibration

- Calibration:
The Vectra™ can be set to automatically calibrate to your tank. As a return pump, this smart feature prevents back-siphoning if the pump is stopped and also provides a neutral flow condition in feed mode.

- ESL via mobile device:
All Vectra™ pumps are compatible with ReefLink. ReefLink provides fully wireless access to EcoSmart® Live, EcoTech Marine®'s web-based aquarium command center.

- Backup battery:
Snowstorm. Hurricane. A driver hits a utility pole. Things happen. The power goes out... Vectra pumps are compatible with the EcoTech® backup battery accessory.

Installation

The Vectra pump includes QuickCouple components; these fitted couplers offer the flexibility needed for ease of installation, cleaning, and adjustments. The Vectra also offers the ability to rotate the pump volute to match your plumbing installation needs.

Different Pump Modes

- Constant Speed:
The constant speed mode is the default mode of the Vectra, allowing the pump to produce a flow at a constant speed determined by the dial position.

- Feed Mode:
With the press of a button, the Vectra pump will temporarily pause the current mode and remain inactive, allowing food to be added to the tank without being cycled into the overflow and filtration.

- Speed Lock:
Speed Lock allows you to lock the desired speed on the pump by disabling the control dial, protecting against accidental and not-so-accidental speed changes.

- Lagoonal Random:
Lagoonal Random mode simulates a low-energy lagoon environment. The pump speed changes slowly to recreate the gentle currents of a lagoon.

- Reef Crest Random:
Reef Crest Random mode simulates a high-energy reef environment. The pump will change speed frequently and dramatically to mimic crashing waves and surging tides. It is a favorite of SPS corals.

- Gyre:
Gyre mode creates a flow pattern consisting of uniform flow levels in a clockwise and counterclockwise pulsing at an interval selected between two seconds and two hours.

Backup Battery

In an aquarium without flow, fish and corals can start to die in as little as 4 to 10 hours. The backup battery is reef tank insurance in an aluminum case.

By adding the backup battery**, your tank is insulated from power outages, helping to protect your valuable investment and the inhabitants of your tank.

The Vectra Advantage

- Cost Savings
Traditional AC pumps, when used as a return pump for your sump, are controlled by flow using a throttling valve. This method of control is inherently inefficient for two reasons. 1) The AC pump purchased often needs to be overpowered for your given setup to allow for some flexibility. 2) By adding artificial impedance to your flow, electricity is wasted. The Vectra pump will always operate at optimal efficiency because there is no need to use a flow restriction valve to achieve the desired flow.
