EHEIM - Activated Carbon 2 L

Description

Adsorption means attaching (as opposed to absorption = absorbing). Adsorptive filter media are materials that remove harmful substances from the water and fix or bind them. This concerns, for example, chlorine from tap water, medication residues, or traces of detergents, pesticides, dyes, etc.

Features

EHEIM KARBON is particularly suited for clarifying water during the initial phase of setting up an aquarium. It reliably removes chlorine from tap water and other chemicals that have entered the aquarium during its setup.
EHEIM KARBON is used for a short period (approximately 4 weeks) in a layered structure after the mechanical filter media (e.g., EHEIM MECH or MECHpro) and biological media (e.g., EHEIM SUBSTRATpro) in the provided mesh bag.

- Binds chlorine and other chemical substances
- Use, for example, after a new setup or medication treatment
- Use for a limited time (approximately 4 weeks)
- Only suitable for freshwater

Advice

Only use adsorptive filter media for a few weeks. Since pollutants only adhere, they can dissolve again after some time and be released back into the water. At least regular replacement is necessary. Adsorption filtering is generally only required during the initial phase of setting up an aquarium or after using medications.
