EHEIM - Activated Carbon with NETBAG 2 L
Description
Adsorbent means to attach (as opposed to absorb = soak up). Adsorbent filter media are materials that remove harmful substances from the water and fix or bind them. This concerns, for example, chlorine from tap water, medication residues, or traces of detergents, pesticides, dyes, etc.
Characteristics
EHEIM KARBON is particularly suited for clarifying water during the aquarium's running-in phase. In particular, chlorine from tap water and other chemical substances that have entered the aquarium during its setup are reliably deposited.
EHEIM KARBON is used for a short period (about 4 weeks) in a layered structure after the mechanical filter material (e.g., EHEIM MECH or MECHpro) and biological filter material (e.g., EHEIM SUBSTRATpro) in the provided net bag.
- Binds chlorine and other chemical substances
- Use, for example, after a new setup or medical treatment
- Use for a limited duration (about 4 weeks)
- Suitable only for freshwater
Advice
Use adsorbent filter media only for a few weeks. Since pollutants only adhere, they can dissolve again after a certain time and be returned to the water. At least a regular exchange is necessary. Adsorption filtering is generally only needed during the aquarium's running-in phase or after using medications.
