Multi-stage filtration - complex of high-quality filtration media by AQUAVIE.

1) Mechanical filtration first stage: A silent and powerful pump circulates the water through low-density foams that capture large particles.

2) Mechanical filtration second stage: Special high-density foams capture microparticles, resulting in clear water and an environment conducive to biological and chemical filtration.

3) Absorptive and chemical filtration - MEDIAMIX*: A patented combination of zeolite, coconut shell charcoal, and ion exchange resins that eliminate multiple pollutants such as:
• Ammonia (which helps keep nitrate levels low);
• Heavy metals and medication residues;
• Phosphates and silicates;
• Suspended microparticles are captured by the porous media.
NOTE: If MEDIAMIX remains in the filter for more than 15 days, it will also develop an active population of beneficial nitrifying bacteria that will aid in the detoxification of ammonia and nitrites.

4) MEDIAPUR: Highly porous ceramic filtration media with a very large surface area. Benefits: very large surface area, highly porous, inert, pH neutral, and very lightweight.

5) Biological Filtration - MEDIAPOR: Special ceramic media that provide refuge sites for beneficial bacteria capable of eliminating toxic ammonia and nitrites.
