Kalkwasser for Marine Aquariums
Kalkwasser, or calcium hydroxide, is crucial for maintaining optimal levels of calcium and carbonate hardness in marine aquariums. This method helps stabilize pH and promotes coral growth.
Preparation Instructions
Dilute 1 tablespoon (about 7 to 10 g) of calcium hydroxide in 10 liters of osmosis water. Let it sit for several hours in a closed container to obtain a clear liquid, called kalkwasser, which will be added drop by drop into the aquarium.
Usage Tips
It is recommended to use a kalkwasser reactor or a dosing pump to integrate the solution into the sump. This practice ensures regular and safe diffusion.
