The Megalamphodus megalopterus has a diamond-shaped body and silver scales with a spot near the gill cover. Generally, this fish occupies the middle zones in the waters it inhabits. Omnivorous with insectivorous tendencies, it is perfectly suited for community aquariums due to its very peaceful behavior.
