The Trichogaster lalius is also commonly known as Gourami. This beautiful fish from Asia, with its oval shape, has very attractive stripes on its body. This fish can be blue, yellow, or red in color. The Trichogaster lalius also has two barbels under its head. These allow it to adjust its direction, touch, and also to gauge the distance of obstacles it encounters. In your tank, it is preferable to introduce the Trichogaster lalius in pairs.
The suitable water temperature in an aquarium for this specimen is between 22° and 28°. The ideal pH for raising this species is between 6.5 and 7.5. For breeding, favor a temperature close to 28° and a pH of 7. The minimum recommended volume to maintain the Cosby Gourami is 200 L.
