En savoir plus

The Hyphessobrycon callistus minor is also commonly known as the Serpae tetra. This specimen is red in color over its entire body. It is recognizable thanks to the small black oval spot located right next to the gills, as well as to its dorsal and anal fins which are the same color as these. The Serpae tetra is a schooling fish. It is preferable to introduce them in groups, meaning a group of at least 8 individuals is necessary to achieve a good balance.

The recommended aquarium capacity is around 100 liters. A temperature between 22°C and 26°C, as well as a pH between 6.8 and 7.2, form the adequate parameters for breeding this species under optimal conditions. The fish's schooling behavior must be respected because if kept in too small a number, it may feel unwell and become aggressive with its tank mates.
