En savoir plus
This 3 to 5 cm long barb is quite original and recognizable by its large dorsal fin, hence the name Flag Barb. It is a schooling fish from India, with group members organizing themselves in a hierarchy. As a result, some displays may take place to organize the group. The animal generally thrives in areas where the ground is composed of humus and where numerous plants are present.
A pH of 6 to 7.5 and a temperature of 23 to 28°C will suit them perfectly. For breeding, make sure to place them in a 50 L tank with at least 8 individuals. However, the Flag Barb should not be mixed with crustaceans or significantly larger fish, as it may become a favored prey.
