En savoir plus
The Panaque nigrolineatus, also known as the "Royal Pleco," originates from the waters of the Orinoco and the Amazon in South America. Belonging to the catfish family, its adult size varies between 31 and 36 cm. Living on the bottom, this species lives in groups and adopts a nocturnal lifestyle. Rather calm, this herbivorous specimen hides while waiting for dusk and becomes active once night falls.
An aquarium of at least 400L is required to maintain the Panaque nigrolineatus. The water should have a temperature between 22°C and 30°C to meet the ideal living conditions for your animals. The pH should be between 6.5 and 7.5. Group maintenance is essential to avoid lonely individuals who stress very quickly. Nevertheless, it remains a relatively non-aggressive fish, even if territorial, and robust. Its maintenance is thus suitable for aquarists with a minimum of experience.
