En savoir plus
The Betta albimarginata is considered, like all Bettas for that matter, a fighting fish. The dark band on its back distinguishes it from the Betta channoides. It also has a labyrinth organ that allows it to extract oxygen from the air. Living close to the ground or at mid-height, this fish adopts a diurnal lifestyle, alone or as a pair. With a calm temperament, it is tolerant of its peers.
Preferring acidic waters, it is important to maintain the aquarium water between 23° and 28°, and the pH should be kept between 4.8 and 6.5. The volume should be at least 30 liters. Quite small, the Betta albimarginata does not exceed 5 cm when fully grown. It also has a lifespan of about 3 years. Branches and leaves placed at the bottom of the tank are ideal for creating shelters that are highly appreciated by this specimen. A well-covered aquarium is an essential parameter since this species has a strong tendency to jump.
