A dwarf cichlid from South America, blue, very well-known in aquariums.
For wild strains, a pH of 4.8 to 6.8 is ideal, but farmed fish will tolerate a pH higher than 7.0 (up to 7.6). The GH is of little importance, except for breeding, for which it is desirable to maintain it below 10, or even below 5.
