Water: Make sure the water is of good quality and well filtered, using a quality filter and changing the water regularly (about 25% every 2 weeks).
Feeding: Feed your Tetraodon lineatus a variety of foods such as shrimp, mussels, mealworms, and vegetables. Avoid feeding it foods that are too rich in protein, as this can cause health issues such as fatty liver disease.
Living space: Ensure that your Tetraodon lineatus has a sufficiently large living space suited to its size. A 400-liter aquarium is recommended for a single fish, but you should increase the aquarium size if you have multiple fish or if your Tetraodon lineatus shares the aquarium with other fish species.
Tank mates: Tetraodon lineatus are generally solitary and can be aggressive with other fish species. It is therefore recommended not to house other fish with them in the same aquarium. If you still wish to do so, choose peaceful and larger species that can defend themselves in case of aggression.
Water temperature: Tetraodon lineatus prefer a water temperature of 22 to 28°C. Ensure to maintain this temperature using a thermometer and adjusting the aquarium heater if necessary.
Cleaning: Regularly clean the aquarium by removing waste and changing the water. Use a vacuum to remove waste from the bottom of the aquarium and a rock cleaner to remove algae and waste stuck to the aquarium walls.
Medical care: Pay attention to the health of your Tetraodon lineatus and monitor for any signs of illness. If you notice changes in behavior or lethargy, consult a veterinarian specializing in aquarium fish.
In general, Tetraodon lineatus are fairly robust fish.
