En savoir plus
Bicolored fish with black and silver hues, the Gyrinocheilus aymonieri lives in freshwater in the Asia region. Belonging to the catfish type, it can live for 5 years and reach a length of about 28 cm. Adopting a diurnal lifestyle, it is a solitary animal that prefers the aquatic bottoms. Algae-eating and herbivorous, it feeds near the ground. With a rather calm temperament, it generally ignores other species it encounters on its path.
The temperature of its natural habitat ranges between 24° and 30°, and the pH between 6 and 8. A strong current in an aquarium of at least 130 L is entirely suitable for its habits. Robust and tenacious, the Gyrinocheilus aymonieri is easy to raise.
