En savoir plus

The Pelvicachromis kribensis is a species of dwarf cichlid originating from Central Africa. This freshwater fish, often confused with Pelvicachromis taeniatus and Pelvicachromis drachenfelsi, is physically distinguished by the absence of a white or black margin on the caudal fin. Although in its natural habitat, this fish can reach up to 75 cm in length, it is very common, especially in captivity, for it to average 6 cm. Its lifespan is estimated to be around 8 years.

With a relatively calm temperament, the Pelvicachromis kribensis lives in pairs. However, it does not like the presence of conspecifics or territorial specimens. Displays and conflicts may occur until a hierarchy is established in the tank. It can still be integrated into a community aquarium, provided that there is a significant space for it to mark its territory. The water should have a temperature between 22° and 25° and a minimum volume of 100 liters. The pH should be between 5.5 and 7. If you wish to welcome this fish into your aquarium, prefer a fine sand substrate and add some branches, stones, and leaves.
