En savoir plus
The Aulonocara sp. RED is a fish that lives in small groups in Lake Malawi. Territorial, it does not appreciate the presence of other fish with similar behavior. Otherwise, its temperament is quite calm when cohabiting with compatible animals like non-territorial fish. Its diet corresponds to that of a carnivore. Polygamous, the males of this species reproduce with several females each season.
When kept in an aquarium, a water temperature of 23°C to 27°C is perfectly suitable. Additionally, a pH between 7.5 and 8.5 is equally appropriate. The minimum volume required for the Aulonocara sp. RED is around 400 L. The tank population should be at least 4 individuals to avoid risking the solitude of your marine animal. Robust but aggressive towards dominant fish, this species is sometimes not so easy to maintain. Some knowledge and prior research before its acquisition are essential for a healthy animal.
