Originally from the Rio Xingu like its cousin L046, it has the particularity of having a color very similar to the latter.
Some call them "Wavy zebra pleco" because the black stripes are not as straight as those of the Hypancistrus zebra.

As a rather carnivorous Loricariid, it should be offered food similar to that of corydoras.
