Description

The mechanical filter media traps particles of varying coarseness. The biological filter media, on the other hand, ensure the sedimentation of bacterial cultures: the cleaning bacteria feed on dirt particles and transform them. This is the primary means of achieving clear and healthy water in the aquarium and maintaining stable water values.

Our latest development is a combined filter media that fulfills both mechanical and biological functions.

Mechano-biological filter media for combined water treatment

bioMECH is intelligently designed: coarse and fine dirt particles are caught in the dirt trapping pockets and retained. At the same time, an ingenious porous structure ensures the colonization of cleaning bacteria and thus reliable biological degradation. The material is pH neutral and contains no hardeners.
EHEIM bioMECH is suitable for both fresh and marine water, is washable and can be used multiple times.
