But in the meantime, the EHEIM JÄGER regulator heater has become a state-of-the-art thermal device. The temperature can be set precisely and is maintained constantly. A special laboratory glass jacket enlarges the heating surface, serves as a thermal shield, and ensures even heat emission. The temperature can be set precisely from 18 to 34°C and readjusted if necessary (± 2°C). The control precision is ± 0.5°C.

The heat is kept constant. An indicator light shows the heating function.

The rod is completely waterproof, can be fully submerged, has dry-run protection (Thermo Safety Control), and is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater.

One of the most important innovations is the glass jacket:
- it enlarges the heating surface,
- compresses the heat, ensures optimal and even thermal emissions, and
- acts as a thermal shield (aquarium inhabitants do not fear touching it).

The jacket is made of special laboratory glass. It was created for research purposes. Therefore, it is free of pollutants that could be released into the water. Chemical and biological substances do not attack it. There are no cracks or capillary cracks through which condensation water could penetrate. It is shock-resistant. And even extreme temperature fluctuations, such as those that can occur during water changes, do not affect this glass.

FAQ

There is moisture in my aquarium heater. Is it dangerous?

No, every aquarium heater that leaves our house is subjected to a waterproof test. Thus, we can guarantee that all aquarium heaters that leave our house are waterproof.

However, if you notice condensation on the glass bulb of your aquarium heater, then condensation has probably formed. This condensation can have the following reason.

When the aquarium heater heats the aquarium water, very high temperatures occur within the heater itself. Therefore, the air in the heater expands. This air escapes through the cable so that the heater does not burst due to the overpressure that now occurs.

When the heater turns off, the cooling air contracts and a negative pressure is created. Air is now drawn into the heater through the cable. The air can be very humid depending on the weather or season, and this humid air condenses inside the heater and settles on the glass, as it is the coldest part of the heater.

Since this moisture buildup has no conductive connection to the aquarium water, the operation is completely harmless. The functioning of the aquarium heater is also not impaired in any way.
