But in the meantime, the EHEIM JÄGER regulator heater is a state-of-the-art thermal device. The temperature can be set precisely and is maintained consistently. A special laboratory glass jacket enlarges the heating surface, serves as a thermal shield, and ensures uniform heat emission. The temperature can be set precisely from 18 to 34 ° C and readjusted if necessary (± 2 °). The control precision is ± 0.5 ° C.

The heat is maintained consistently. An indicator light shows the heating function.

The rod is completely waterproof, can be fully submerged, has dry run protection (Thermo Safety Control), and is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater.
 
One of the most important innovations is the glass jacket:
- it enlarges the heating surface,
- compresses the heat, ensures optimal and even heat emission and
- forms a thermal shield (aquarium inhabitants don't fear touching it).

The jacket is made of special laboratory glass. This was created for research purposes. Therefore, it is free of pollutants that could be released into the water. Chemical and biological substances do not attack it. There are no cracks or capillary cracks through which condensation water could penetrate. It is shock-resistant. And even extreme temperature fluctuations, such as those that can occur during water changes, do not affect this glass.

FAQ

There is moisture in my aquarium heater. Is it dangerous?

No, every aquarium heater that leaves our factory is subjected to a waterproof test. Thus, we can guarantee that all aquarium heaters leaving our factory are waterproof.

However, if you notice condensation on the glass bulb of your aquarium heater, it is likely that condensation has formed. This condensation can have the following reason.

When the aquarium heater heats the aquarium water, very high temperatures occur within the heater itself. Therefore, the air in the heater expands. This air escapes through the cable so that the heater does not burst due to the overpressure now occurring.

When the heater turns off, the cooling air contracts, creating negative pressure. Air is now drawn into the heater via the cable. Depending on the weather or season, this air can be very humid, and this humid air condenses inside the heater and settles on the glass, as it is the coldest part of the heater.

Since this moisture accumulation has no conductive connection to the aquarium water, the operation is totally harmless. The operation of the aquarium heater is also in no way impaired.
