The obvious ideas are often the best. The same goes for the aquarium heating rod. It is simply suspended in the water and heats it. The principle is still the same as it was decades ago. But in the meantime, the EHEIM JÄGER regulator heater is a state-of-the-art thermal device. The temperature can be precisely adjusted and is maintained constant. A special laboratory glass sleeve enlarges the heating surface, acts as a thermal shield, and ensures uniform heat emission. And whether you want to heat an aquarium of 20 or 1000 liters, you can choose from 9 sizes.

The temperature can be precisely adjusted from 18 to 34°C and readjusted if necessary (± 2°C). The control accuracy is ± 0.5°C.

The heat is maintained constant. An indicator light shows the heating function.

The rod is completely waterproof, can be fully submerged, has dry run protection (Thermo Safety Control), and is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater.
 
One of the most important innovations is the glass jacket:
- it enlarges the heating surface,
- compresses the heat, ensures optimal and uniform heat emission, and
- forms a thermal shield (aquarium inhabitants are not afraid to touch it).

The jacket is made of special laboratory glass. This was created for research purposes. Therefore, it is free of pollutants that could be released into the water. Chemical and biological substances do not attack it. There are no cracks or capillary cracks through which condensation water could penetrate. It is shock-resistant. And even extreme temperature fluctuations, such as those that can occur during water changes, do not affect this glass.

FAQ

There is moisture in my aquarium heater. Is it dangerous?

No, every aquarium heater that leaves our factory undergoes a waterproof test. Thus, we can guarantee that all aquarium heaters leaving our factory are waterproof.

However, if you notice condensation on the glass bulb of your aquarium heater, then condensation has probably formed. This condensation can have the following reason.

When the aquarium heater heats the aquarium water, very high temperatures occur inside the heater itself. Therefore, the air inside the heater expands. This air escapes through the cable so that the heater does not burst due to the overpressure that now occurs.

When the heater turns off, the cooling air contracts and a negative pressure is created. The air is now sucked into the heater through the cable. Since the air can be very humid, depending on the weather or season, this humid air condenses inside the heater and deposits on the glass, as the coldest part of the heater.

Since this moisture accumulation has no conductive connection to the aquarium water, its operation is completely harmless. The operation of the aquarium heater is also in no way impaired.
