The obvious ideas are often the best. The same goes for the aquarium heating rod. It is simply suspended in the water and heats it. The principle is still the same as decades ago. But in the meantime, the EHEIM JÄGER regulator heater is a state-of-the-art thermal device. The temperature can be set precisely and is kept constant. A special laboratory glass sleeve enlarges the heating surface, serves as a thermal shield, and ensures uniform heat emission. Whether you want to heat a 20-liter or 1000-liter aquarium, you can choose from 9 sizes.

The temperature can be precisely set from 18 to 34 °C and readjusted if necessary (± 2 °C). The control accuracy is ± 0.5 °C.

The heat is kept constant. An indicator light shows the heating function.

The rod is completely waterproof, can be fully submerged, has dry-running protection (Thermo Safety Control), and is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater.

One of the most important innovations is the glass jacket:
- it enlarges the heating surface,
- compresses the heat, ensures optimal and uniform heat emission, and
- forms a thermal shield (aquarium inhabitants are not afraid to touch it).

The jacket is made of special laboratory glass. It was created for research purposes. Therefore, it is free of pollutants that could be released into the water. Chemical and biological substances do not attack it. There are no cracks or capillary fissures through which condensation water could penetrate. It is shock-resistant. And even extreme temperature fluctuations, such as those that can occur during water changes, do not affect this glass.

FAQ

There is moisture in my aquarium heater. Is this dangerous?

No, every aquarium heater leaving our facility undergoes a waterproof test. Thus, we can guarantee that all aquarium heaters leaving our facility are waterproof.

However, if you notice condensation on the glass bulb of your aquarium heater, then condensation has likely formed. This condensation can have the following reason.

When the aquarium heater heats the aquarium water, very high temperatures occur within the heater itself. Therefore, the air in the heater expands. This air escapes through the cable so that the heater does not burst due to the overpressure now occurring.

When the heater shuts off, the cooling air contracts and creates negative pressure. The air is now sucked into the heater via the cable. The air can be very humid, depending on the weather or season, and this humid air condenses inside the heater and settles on the glass, as the coldest part of the heater.

Since this moisture accumulation has no conductive connection to the aquarium water, the operation is completely harmless. The operation of the aquarium heater is also in no way impaired.
