En savoir plus
The Synchiropus splendidus, also known as the Mandarin Dragonet, is a fish measuring 6 to 8 cm with an orange and blue color pattern. These colors are distributed on the body in the form of stripes, circles, or undefined shapes. This specimen is found in South Asia and Oceania, not far from seabeds with strong or moderate currents.
A minimum 100L aquarium is recommended to meet the natural needs of the Synchiropus splendidus. The water should maintain a temperature between 24° and 28°C. The pH should be between 8.2 and 8.4. Living as a pair or alone, this territorial but not very aggressive specimen maintains better interspecific than intraspecific relationships. Additionally, numerous rocks and a sandy bottom allow the species to effectively establish a territory once acclimated. Finally, the Synchiropus splendidus follows an omnivorous diet with a carnivorous tendency.
Synchiropus splendidus, common name: cashmere fish or mandarin fish. This fish has a robust green body with blue streaks. For its well-being, your aquarium should be at least 6 months mature and have numerous hiding spots; ensure a good amount of microfauna. This fish will also feed on the parasites of your soft corals.
The splendidus eat frozen mysis and artemia with us, but be careful, they eat this because there is no décor in our acclimation tanks.
If they have the opportunity to eat live microfauna, they will prioritize this diet.
