En savoir plus

Physogyra lichtensteini is part of the LPS (large polyp stony corals), and they are generally easier to maintain than small polyp stony corals (SPS). The Physogyra has large cylindrical polyps comparable to bubbles with a diameter of 2 to 3 cm.

It is necessary to leave about ten centimeters between this coral and its neighbors to prevent it from burning them.

It is one of the easiest hard coral species to maintain if you keep its Calcium and Kh levels stable in the aquarium. The photo is a faithful representation of our Physogyra intended for sale.

The Physogyra lichtensteini species belongs to the Plerogyridae family. Feeding once a day is recommended with prey such as rotifers and Artemia nauplii of a size of <0.5cm, for example. Recommended for dedicated beginner aquarists. Propagation of Physogyra lichtensteini is impossible or very difficult. Light: medium with a spectrum of about 14 to 20000 k. Aggressiveness: medium. Current: medium. Water quality: we recommend a nitrate level NO3- between 4 and 10 mg/l. Also, a phosphate level PO4 between 0.01 and 0.05mg/l. Of course, Calcium (400-440mg/l), Magnesium (1250-1350mg/l), and Kh (7.5 to 9°dKH) should be at the correct values. To conclude, Physogyra lichtensteini are relatively easy to maintain if you provide reasonable lighting and water flow, as long as the parameters are good.
