Common Name: White-spotted Pufferfish. This fish has a brown body with white spots. Le Arothron hispidus is famous for its coloration, charm, and especially the fact that it can inflate more than twice its original size when stressed, which can cause it illnesses and even death. This animal is best suited to a non-reef environment because it will eat all crustaceans, corals and invertebrates. For its well-being, it needs a spacious aquarium with plenty of live rocks to keep its teeth worn down (or to trim them when necessary). It requires a varied diet, composed of pieces of meaty foods including shrimp, squid, mussels, large krill, and an intake of algae.
