NO 3: PO 4 -X is the original, safest, most popular, and best solution that provides a comprehensive, reef-safe, controllable method for reducing nitrates and phosphates, thereby stimulating the growth and coloration of corals in any reef or marine fish system.

Unlike other methods, the controlled dosing of NO3: PO4-X biologically reduces both nitrates and phosphates while allowing precise control of their levels. This fine control allows for gradual changes and ensures precise maintenance of the nutrient levels necessary for algae to safely reduce harmful algae and bring symbiotic zooxanthellae algae to the optimal levels needed to stimulate coral growth and coloration.

NO 3: PO 4 -X is a unique complex of carbon substances and other organically bound elements that enhances the activity of nutrient-reducing bacteria, which naturally exist in all marine aquariums. NO 3: PO 4 -X is formulated for daily dosing, and when combined with weekly nitrate and phosphate measurements, it allows for gradual changes and precise control of algae nutrients that are so important for the long-term health of all corals.

New tanks, untreated established tanks, and established tanks that have used alternative nitrate and/or phosphate reduction methods will all react differently when they start using NO 3: PO 4 -X. However, over time, nutrient levels will stabilize as desired, no matter where they started. With continued correct use, there are no undesirable side effects when using NO 3: PO 4 -X. It is safe for all fish, corals, and microfauna. Even a significant accidental overdose should not cause irreversible damage as long as an appropriately sized skimmer is installed on the system.

Usage Notes:

Uncontrolled reduction of algae nutrients can destroy symbiotic zooxanthellae causing UV shock and coral starvation. For best results, always use an accurate test kit such as the Red Sea Nitrate Pro test, which has a precision of 0.125 ppm.

Once nutrient levels are lower, as shown by corals displaying their natural colors instead of "Zooxanthellae" brown, it is important to start feeding with easily digestible foods such as Red Sea's two-part Reef Energy formula, which contains all the necessary carbohydrates, amino acids, and vitamins.

Effective protein skimming is essential to ensure the necessary oxygenation of the water and to remove bacterial flocks from the aquarium.
