Overview
With a reduced footprint, the OCTO Regal series of space-saving protein skimmers (Regal-S) is an ideal protein skimmer for aquariums with limited sump space. The Regal-S also features high-quality cast acrylic construction, easy disassembly for maintenance, a precision control valve, and a hybrid conical body that helps naturally stabilize and concentrate the organics-rich foam as it rises.
Additionally, the Regal-S is powered by our own controllable VarioS skimmer pump, which features a pinwheel impeller, a detachable controller, a high-quality ceramic shaft and bearing to reduce wear, and the latest variable speed flow technology for refined control, enhanced performance, energy efficiency, and safer operations.
Unlike the majority of circulation pumps that use alternating current (AC), our VarioS pump offers several key advantages over traditional AC pumps, namely higher energy efficiency, safer operations with a 24V working voltage, and most importantly, variable speed control to adjust the ideal air-water mix in the skimmer.
With the VarioS controller, the user has control over the flow by choosing from five preset speed settings; indicated by five illuminated LEDs. A 15 or 60-minute feed mode can also be activated or deactivated at the push of a button.
A rotating output orientation allows for horizontal or vertical adjustment for placement flexibility.
Under normal usage, the VarioS pump has an expected lifespan of 10 years.
